What's going on...
I have been involved from the beginning of this issue and am AMAZED at the audacity of people's attitudes and reactions toward this issue. I find appalling the lack of concern for this important issue in today's environmentally aware society.

Prospect Reef Resort is a well known resort located on the Southern side of Tortola, just outside town. Prospect Reef is owned by Mr Cyril Romney, a local Tortolian and run by Mr Andre Neiderhauser.
A dolphin 'lagoon' has been built, an enclosure with no filtration and no through-flow of water, this is where the dolphins will be kept and put on display. |
What we're doing about it...
To put it simply, there is nothing being done to stop these dolphins coming to Tortola. Apart from constant articles in the newspapers and public education talks there isn't really a whole lot more we can do. Most of the people against this are not locals to the BVI and therefore have very little or no say. Government influence is so strong that people are afraid to stand up and make their opinion heard. That is where this site comes in... We need information that can help us fight this political battle for the sake of these dolphin's, and other dolphins in the same situation.
